AI-Forexism Day Trading
π§ What is Day Trading?
Day trading is the act of predicting price movements β whether an asset will go up or down β based on specific patterns to generate profit in a short timeframe.
- Unlike traditional investing, day traders can profit in both directions:
- Bull Market β price rising β go Long (Buy)
- Bear Market β price falling β go Short (Sell)
- Success is 80% psychology and 20% technical skill
- You do not need hundreds of thousands of dollars β you can start with as little as $10
- You only need 30 minutes to 2 hours per day
π‘ Common Myths β Busted
| Myth | Truth |
|---|---|
| You need a lot of money to start | You can start with $5β$10 |
| It takes 10 years to be profitable | Students become profitable in 3 months |
| You need an expensive setup | A phone or laptop with internet is enough |
| You need hours glued to charts | 30 minβ2 hours a day is enough |

π° III. Analysis Methods
Fundamental Analysis
- Tool: ForexFactory.com β no account needed
- Folder colors: π‘ Yellow = low impact | π Orange = medium | π΄ Red = high impact β AVOID
- Rule: No trades 15 minutes before AND after Red Folder news
- Key events: CPI, Unemployment Claims, FOMC Minutes, Core PPI
- USD news affects almost everything β including futures (NQ, ES, YM)
- If already in a trade during news: don't force close, but watch closely
Technical Analysis
- Tool: TradingView.com β Products β SuperCharts
- Uses previous price data and patterns to predict future movement
- Banks, institutions, and funds move the market β technical analysis helps get inside their minds
π―οΈ IV. Candlestick Anatomy
β β Top Wick (highest price reached)
βββ
βββ β Body (open β close)
βββ
β β Bottom Wick (lowest price reached)
- Bullish (Green/White): bottom = open, top = close β price went UP
- Bearish (Red): top = open, bottom = close β price went DOWN
- Wicks = where price traveled but was "scared" to stay
- Higher timeframes (4H/Daily) = big picture | Lower (1M/5M) = precise entry
A 1-hour candle contains 60 one-minute candles inside it.
π V. Key Candlestick Patterns
| Pattern | Shape | Signal |
|---|---|---|
| Shooting Star | Long top wick, small body at bottom | π΄ Downward reversal |
| Hammer | Long bottom wick, small body at top | π’ Upward reversal |
| Doji | Thin body, near-equal wicks on both sides | β οΈ Indecision β imminent reversal |
| Bullish Engulfing | Large green candle "eats" prior red | π’ More upside |
| Bearish Engulfing | Large red candle "eats" prior green | π΄ More downside |
β οΈ Haikenashi rule: Only Dojis are valid. Hammers, Shooting Stars, and Engulfing DO NOT apply on Haikenashi.
π΅ VI. Haikenashi Candlesticks (Secret Weapon)
- Smooths price by calculating the average price β used by Japanese traders
- Each candle starts in the middle of the previous candle
- Top of bullish body = average price (not the actual close)
- Benefits: Cuts noise, shows clean trend direction, stops emotional exits
- Only valid pattern: Doji reversals
β οΈ Master regular candlesticks FIRST, then learn Haikenashi
TradingView Back-test Workaround for Haikenashi
- Stay on regular candlesticks (bar replay works here)
- Add indicator:
Hiken Ashi Candle Overlayby B Jorgum - Chart Settings β Symbol β uncheck Body, Border, Wick
- Now see Haikenashi while bar replay still works β
π VII. Support, Resistance & Key Levels
How to Draw S/R Zones
- Look for: strong movements away from an area OR multiple rejections at an area
- Draw as boxes, not lines β gives breathing room
- Support: draw from bottom of wick β body of lowest candle
- Resistance: draw from body of highest candle β top wick
- Use 4-hour or hourly timeframe (higher timeframe = more respected zone)
- Never expect price to stop EXACTLY at your zone β small wick-outs are fine
Break and Retest
- Price breaks above resistance β old resistance becomes support
- Price breaks below support β old support becomes resistance
- Wait for tap-back into zone, then trade the reversal
Key Levels (Evergreen)
- Mark where the market completely changed direction (uptrend β downtrend or vice versa)
- Draw with lines on 4-hour timeframe
- Keep on chart for weeks to months β they remain valid long-term
- Look for reversal candlestick near the level, not exact touch
Trend Lines
- Connect wicks of lows (uptrend) or highs (downtrend)
- Need minimum 2 touches β 3+ is stronger
- Small wick through = fine | Body completely through = invalidated
π VIII. Market Phases & Trader Types
Market Phases
| Phase | Description | Best Strategy |
|---|---|---|
| Consolidation | Tight range, choppy | S/R bounce trades |
| Trending | Higher highs/lows or lower lows/highs | Breakout, pullback |
| Breakout | Consolidation β explosive move | Squeeze strategy |
Trader Types
| Type | Hold Time | Stress Level |
|---|---|---|
| Scalper | Seconds β 10 min | Highest |
| Intraday (Day Trader) | 1 β 24 hours | Medium |
| Swing Trader | Days β months | Lowest |
π‘ Recommendation: Beginners should start as Intraday traders, then move to scalping once confident.
𧩠IX. Indicators
| Indicator | Where to Find | Purpose | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| VWAP | Built into TradingView | Trend direction by volume | Buy above; Sell below |
| Killzones | Killzones by Oscar VS | Session times on chart | Red line = NY start; Yellow = London |
| EMA | Built in β Moving Average Exponential | Average price over time | Common: 50 or 100 length |
| Volume | Built in β Volume | Buying/selling pressure per candle | Bigger bar = stronger move |
For VWAP: Settings β Style β turn OFF Upper/Lower Bands and Band Fill. Keep only the main line.
π― X. The Three Core Strategies
Strategy 1 β Ultimate Support & Resistance
Best for: Intraday / Swing | Draw on: 1H or 4H | Enter on: 1M
Steps:
- Draw S/R zone on 1H or 4H (strong rejection or multiple rejections)
- Wait for price to tap into the zone
- Drop to 1-minute chart
- Watch price form highs and lows (market structure)
- Buys: Enter on break above most recent swing high
- Sells: Enter on break below most recent swing low
- Stop-loss: Below recent swing low (buys) / Above swing high (sells)
- Take-profit: Target recent swing highs/lows
- Minimum RR = 1:1 | Aim for 2:1
β Works the same on Break & Retest setups.
π‘ Set TradingView alerts at your zones to avoid watching the screen all day.
Strategy 2 β The Squeeze (Breakout)
Best for: Intraday / Swing | Draw on: 1H | Enter on: 1M or 5M
Steps:
- Find price compressing into a triangle (converging trend lines)
- Require 2+ rejections on top and 2+ on bottom trend line
- Wait for breakout of the squeeze
- Buys: Enter on break above recent swing high (outside squeeze)
- Sells: Enter on break below recent swing low
- Stop-loss: Below/above most recent swing
- Take-profit: Target swing highs/lows; aim 2:1+
π‘ Like a rubber band β tighter squeeze = bigger breakout.
β οΈ Invalidated if price breaks a swing low while still inside the squeeze.
Strategy 3 β Pullback Strategy (Haikenashi Scalping)
Best for: Scalping | Timeframe: 1-minute only
Tools: 1-min chart + Haikenashi candles + VWAP
Entry Checklist:
-
- For Buys: bearish pullback candles with no bottom wick
- For Sells: bullish pullback candles with no top wick
-
- β Small Doji = skip trade even if everything else lines up
Execution:
- Wait for Doji candle to close, then enter
- Stop-loss: Above Doji (sells) / Below Doji (buys)
- Take-profit: Always 1:1 RR
β Best pairs: NQ, ES, YM, GC (Gold), GBPUSD, GBPJPY
β Avoid NG (Natural Gas) β moves too slowly for scalping
ποΈ XI. Risk Management & Progression
Beginner Progression Path
DEMO ACCOUNT (2 weeks min β 1 month recommended)
β
SMALL LIVE ACCOUNT ($200β$300)
β Every 2 profitable weeks: add $100β$200
β Scale to $1,000 over time
β
PROP FIRM or FUNDED LIVE ACCOUNT
β οΈ Never put money you NEED into a trading account.
Risk Rules
| Account Type | Max Risk Per Trade |
|---|---|
| Live (beginner) | 3% of account |
| Prop firm (conservative) | 0.5β1% |
| Prop firm (experienced) | 1.5β2% |
Example: $10,000 account β max $300 risk per trade
π XII. The Trading Plan
Every trader must have a written plan:
| Element | Details |
|---|---|
| Trader Type | Scalper / Intraday / Swing |
| Trading Hours | Define your window (e.g. 8AMβ1PM EST) |
| Allowed Instruments | Max 3 pairs/assets |
| Allowed Strategies | Max 2 strategies |
| Risk Per Trade | e.g. 3% max |
| Max Trades/Day | Scalpers: 4β5 |
| News Rules | No trading 15 min before/after Red folder |
| Mental Rules | No trading angry, tired, or emotional |
| Consequence | Real, painful, immediate β ice bath, 4-mile run, etc. |
π The consequence is the most important part. Losing money alone is NOT painful enough. You need physical real-life accountability.
π XIII. Backtesting
- Use TradingView Bar Replay or FXReplay.com
- Close eyes, scroll randomly, click β then mark up charts from there
- Use Kill Zones indicator to only back-test during your actual session
- Minimum: 50 calendar days per strategy
- Track every trade: wins, losses, no-trade days, tick amounts, key tags per trade
- After 50 days β optimize (adjust RR, SL size, session timing)
- Then back-test the optimized version for another 100 days
- Finally take it live with micro contracts for 1 month before going full size
π XIV. Journaling (Live Trades)
Track every trade:
- Date & time
- Instrument
- Direction (Long/Short)
- Position size
- Planned risk ($)
- Actual P&L ($)
- Strategy used
- Why you entered
- Why you think you won or lost
- Market conditions (news, volume, session)
- Changes to SL/TP mid-trade
π Review journal every Saturday/Sunday. Look for patterns in wins AND losses. Stop doing what causes losses. Do more of what causes wins.

- Never treat it like a demo account β respect the capital
π§ XVII. Trading Psychology
"80% psychology, 20% technique. Once you're profitable on demo, you already know how to trade β the hard part is managing your mind."
Why Psychology Fails Traders
- When you enter a trade, you become stupider β emotions take over
- Nobody holds you accountable except yourself
- Common failures: overleveraging, too many trades, strategy-hopping, revenge trading
Core Mindset Principles
- Think in probabilities β no single trade is guaranteed. Your edge plays out over 100 trades.
- Develop a carefree state β not careless, but free from fear of losing.
- Make a per-trade plan before entering β define all scenarios before emotions kick in.
- Switch to a higher timeframe after entry β avoids 1-minute panic.
- Imagine SL as money already spent β prevents moving your stop-loss emotionally.
- Good trade = followed your plan (win or lose). Bad trade = deviated from plan (even if you win).
- Walk away after entering β set alerts, close charts, go live your life.
- Heart racing? Close the trade β you're overleveraged or emotionally compromised.
- Switch to Haikenashi after entering β smoother, less stressful view.
- Journal β data β confidence β replaces emotional guessing with facts.
π XVIII. 14 Core Trading Principles
- Take only A+ setups
- Trading less = making more
- Follow the trend β trade with institutions, not against them
- Follow a proven, backtested plan
- Journal every single trade
- Have a per-trade plan before every entry
- Maintain strict rules β no exceptions
- Don't be afraid to pay yourself on a schedule
- Don't try to flip accounts β it doesn't work
- Be patient β wait for your full entry signal
- Trust your trade once entered
- Enter and walk away β let SL/TP do the work
- Don't overleverage β one bad trade wipes all profits
- Emotional regulation β neutral state only before and during trades
π XIX. Joovier's Daily Routine
- Pray / meditate / read β calm, neutral mindset
- Check the markets β see what happened overnight
- Mark up charts β S/R zones and key levels on 4H and 1H
- Set alerts at all zones of interest in TradingView
- Walk away β alerts notify you when price approaches
- Enter trade if setup appears β follow checklist, enter, walk away
- Review journal on weekends

- 80% is psychology, 20% is technical ability
- Start on demo β small live account β prop firm
